Quote: Phra Somdej is the youngest amulet in Benjapakhi set. This amulet made from shell lime mixed with holy powder. It is only one type of Buddha made by Buddhist monks. The obvious data evidence of the builder is Somdej Phra Buddhachan Toh Promrangsi. The amulets found at Wat Bangkhunprom were well known that he took part in making. Not making for distribution as Phra Somdej Wat Rakang amulets. Anyway, the high ranking priest as him took part or took some of his holy powder to mix in making amulets can make faith to people nationwide.

Phra Somdej Wat Rakang Pim Prophor

This piece is called Somdet Wakrakang (Pim Prophor). It is about 100 over years old. I showed this to one of the Thai Amulet shops in Singapore and he told me that it is very old but he did not know from which temple it came from. Last year, when I was in Thailand, I show it to three of the experts and they claimed that this was from Watrakang.

When I was renovating my flat three years ago, I discovered this piece in a disused box inside the store room together with about 20 other pieces of old Thai amulets, which I have totally forgotten about them. I must have left them there for at least 20 years.

This piece came from one of my fellow collectors who exchanged it for one of my collectibles. At first, I had thought that this was one of the Lonpor Nak’s pieces. That was 10 years ago. But later I was delighted to find out that this was from Achan Toh’s creations.

This piece of art is more than one hundred years old. I got it from a friend in exchange of all my collections of old stamps, coins and notes. He claimed that he had received this from a Thai monk after donating S$9000. That was 30 years ago.

This is a valuable piece of artwork made of very holy materials. It is one of the most popular pieces nowadays. I have been keeping it for so many years, amongst many other pieces, in a biscuit tin without knowing that such a wonderful piece of artwork has been in my possession until a friend alerted me to the fact.
