Song yao Yixing Teapot 宋窑紫砂瓜稜壶

In 1985 or 1986 I showed this Yixing teapot to an expert of Sothoby Auction House when he visited Singapore. He said, “I like this teapot very much but it is from the Ming Dynasty Period … As this is not a Teapot Fever period, at the most the base auction price is about US$2500. 据明人周伯高所著（陽羨茗壺系）云：（供春淘土团坯，胎必累按，故腰半尚現節奏，此所谓（团坯），即类泥条盘築的方法，做成器身。又曰：（胎必累按），此则为盘築后的尼条，必定需要加压按捺之后，泥条方能彼此相互结合。
